Kole Notes Spring 2011

We’re finally through winter and into spring, and it has been busy, busy, busy, which is the way we like it… Gardner continues to improve but still has a long way to go…It has been 13 months since she had her stroke but her will to get back to 100% has her working towards that goal…As you may know, I gave up all overseas bookings last year and most of the domestic dates that I had…2011 I am taking all the dates that come my way, and know that my Gardner will be at my side on most of them…

We have some wonderful performance dates coming up in the next few months, and the next ones are here in New Orleans…The Rotary International Convention will be here on May 22nd and I am performing for the opening ceremonies with my septet…We’ll welcome the 19,000 plus to New Orleans with our show, and are so very excited to be asked to be a part of this prestigious group…We’ll also do a septet show for 1,000 plus in Rotary’s House of Friendship…I’ll do a trio performance in Bay St Louis for 470 Rotarians, and a solo performance for a dinner for many of the District Governors of Rotary…We’ll also be having 86 Rotarians from Taiwan visiting us here at Chateau Kole our home on Bayou Liberty for boat rides on the bayou, jazz music by the Storyville Stompers Brass band, food from the South of Louisiana and a private concert by me in our living room…Speaking of Taiwan, August will see me returning to Taiwan to once again perform with the Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra…This will be my third performance there…Unfortunately Gardner will not be with me as she is not up to a long trip like that even though it’ll be Business Class… I’ll also be doing a Dinner Show at the Silver Slipper Casino every Sunday in June…This will be a wonderful way for us to spend our Sunday’s on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi…For those of you on my mailing list that are in the Greater New Orleans area and the Gulf South, you’ll be receiving more details on the dinner show via email from me in a week, as it is reservations only…

Many of you know about the Charity Fundraiser “Jazz on the Bayou” that we do in our back yard every year…The March event was our 19th annual “Jazz'” and it was fantastic…We have given over one million dollars to charities thanks to the hard work and dedication of our committee who work like Trojans…This year we did a first…We had local artist Adam Sambola do a 16 x 22 ” poster for us, for which he donated his time and great talent…They were sold in the auction tent by Gardner during “Jazz.” We still have some left and are offering them on a first come, first served basis for the same price that we offered them at “Jazz on the Bayou.” $35.00 plus $7.50 S&H…They are autographed by Adam and myself and are numbered…The poster will be mailed to you with an invoice and know that all the monies go to Jazz on the Bayou…Below is the poster…
