Kole Notes Summer 2015

It has been much too long a time since I’ve sent you an update on what has and what is going on in our lives…This year has been great and performances are on the rise thank goodness…

Our annual Jazz on the Bayou fundraiser that we do is in the backyard of Chateau Kole here on Bayou Liberty was a real winner…All the chefs as well as the patrons love the setting and after expenses like the comfort station, tents, chairs, tables plus Bobby Ohler and The Harbor Band and the Storyville Stompers are paid we were able to distribute whopping $116,500 to our designated charities from this “backyard” event…No salaries are paid to our hard working committee members who work year around to make sure we have a fantastic event…Also a BIG THANK YOU goes out to our wonderful sponsors, and the chefs/restaurants who donate their time and food…If you haven’t been to Jazz on the Bayou and would like to be added to next years mailing list, send me an email with your mailing address and we’ll make sure that you are notified in 2016…”Jazz” will be held on the third weekend of March, 2016…

This summer was great as usual as we did our annual trip to France, plus Belgium and Germany…We saw many friends, drank plenty of fine wines and of course ate some fantastic food…Oh, yes I did perform in each country and all were very gratifying to say the least…The Bordeaux area of France, Spa, Belgium and at Restaurant Zur Traube in Germany…

Next week we’ll head up to Nashville to do a “Showcase” for Live on Stage…There will be 400 people in the audience and most, if not all, are buyers for their 2016/17 concert series…August 28th and 30th its up to Rock Springs, WY to do a concert and also to perform a church service…Sort of a “Jazz Mass” which we’ve done a few times over the past decade or so…

September will take me to the Pacific Northwest to do a handful of solo concerts for Live on Stage…See the “Gigs” page of this website for details.

We’ll follow that with a return performance with the Rapides Symphony Orchestra on September 26th in Alexandria, LA…I’m not sure if it’ll be outside on the banks of the Red River or in the Performing Arts Center…The trio is excited to once again perform so close to home and also for so many of our friends and fans in Central Louisiana…A really fine orchestra and Maestro Zona is a joy to work with…

Well I guess that I’ve bent your ear long enough…We would be lost without your support and that of so many other friends and followers…

Big hugs to all from Gardner and me…and also Lloyd (drums) and Danny (bass guitar)…and do keep in touch;

Kole Notes Winter 2014

It has been much too long a time since I’ve sent out a Kole Notes letting everyone know what is going on in my career and also Gardner’s and my lives…
It has as always been a wonderful exciting year starting with the Washington Mardi Gras Extravaganza through performing in the New Orleans Superdome with strings for 2000 people this past November…Also in November I did a show on a piano that is to be auctioned off that was autographed by Sir Paul McCarthy and Ringo Starr the only living members of the Beatles…Quite an honor to be the only person to perform on this unique piano…
France this past September was as always just fantastic…Did some concerts and in between did a lot of visiting friends at the vineyards in Beaune (Burgundy) and Bordeaux…As always the audiences are so very responsive and the food and wine so very good…
JazzFest was as always a real kick…(See the attached photos) The audience was a killer and my septet played so very well as they also did at the French Quarter Festival for some 3,000 screaming folks and fans…
I did a fundraiser for the Southwest Florida Symphony in Fort Myers Florida and one for the Rapides Symphony Orchestra in Alexandria, Louisiana…Speaking of Symphonies, I’ll be performing with the Rapides Symphony on September 17th and am waiting for dates with the Southwest Florida Symphony and also the Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra…
I’ll be doing a solo concert tour in the Pacific Northwest in September which I’m really looking forward to as well as some dates in France, Belgium and possibly Germany in June…
Our annual Jazz on the Bayou Fundraiser that we do here at Chateau Kole was a real success…After expenses we were able to distribute $81.000 to our designated charities…I’m aiming at being able to distribute $100.000 in March of 2015…I’m looking for two more $5,000.00 sponsors to make my goal of $100,000…
Below is a link to an article that was just in the paper that I thought that you might like to look at…There’s a great photo of Gardner and a wonderful story about what we’ve been doing with our lives these past years…
Keep in touch and do have a merry Christmas and a Happy and most of all a Healthy 2015…
Speaking of Christmas, if you’re in need of a few stockings stuffers try one of my CD’s or DVD’s…You can order them at www.RonnieKole.com and I’ll autograph them to you or whomever you’re giving them to…
